Installing Roru Wallet on Your Device

This guide will walk you through installing Roru Wallet on your device. Roru Wallet is currently in beta and available to registered users through the Roru Labs portal. The wallet supports iOS, Android, desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux), and web browser platforms.

System Requirements

Mobile Devices

iOS:

  • iOS 14.0 or later

  • iPhone 8 or later, or iPad with A10 chip or later

  • 100 MB free storage space

  • Internet connection for initial setup

Android:

  • Android 8.0 (API level 26) or later

  • 100 MB free storage space

  • Internet connection for initial setup

  • Internet connection for portal access

Desktop

Windows:

  • Windows 10 or later (64-bit)

  • 200 MB free storage space

  • Internet connection for initial setup

macOS:

  • macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later

  • 200 MB free storage space

  • Internet connection for initial setup

Linux:

  • Ubuntu 18.04 or later, or equivalent distribution

  • 200 MB free storage space

  • Internet connection for initial setup

Web Browser

  • Modern browser with WebAssembly support

  • Chrome 90+, Firefox 88+, Safari 14+, or Edge 90+

  • Internet connection required

Beta Access

Portal Registration

Roru Wallet is currently in beta and requires portal registration:

  1. Register for Beta Access: Visit the Roru Labs portal and register for beta access

  2. Wait for Approval: Beta access is granted to selected users

  3. Receive Access: Once approved, you'll receive access credentials and download links

  4. Install Wallet: Follow the installation instructions provided in the portal

Installation Methods

iOS Installation

  1. Log in to the Roru Labs portal

  2. Navigate to the Downloads section

  3. Download the iOS installation package (.ipa file)

  4. Connect your iOS device to your computer

  5. Use Apple Configurator or Xcode to install the app

  6. Trust the developer certificate in Settings > General > Device Management

  7. Open Roru Wallet and log in with your portal credentials

Android Installation

  1. Log in to the Roru Labs portal

  2. Navigate to the Downloads section

  3. Download the Android installation package (.apk file)

  4. Enable "Install from Unknown Sources" in your device settings (if needed)

  5. Open the downloaded APK file

  6. Tap "Install" when prompted

  7. Review and accept the permissions

  8. Open Roru Wallet and log in with your portal credentials

Security Note: Only download installation files from the Roru Labs portal. Verify the file signature if possible.

Desktop Installation

Windows

Installer Method:

  1. Log in to the Roru Labs portal

  2. Navigate to the Downloads section

  3. Download the Windows installer (.exe) from the portal

  4. Run the installer

  5. Follow the installation wizard

  6. Choose installation location (default is recommended)

  7. Complete the installation

  8. Launch Roru Wallet and log in with your portal credentials

Portable Method:

  1. Log in to the Roru Labs portal

  2. Navigate to the Downloads section

  3. Download the portable ZIP file

  4. Extract to a folder of your choice

  5. Run RoruWallet.exe from the extracted folder

  6. Log in with your portal credentials

macOS

DMG Installation:

  1. Log in to the Roru Labs portal

  2. Navigate to the Downloads section

  3. Download the macOS disk image (.dmg) from the portal

  4. Open the downloaded DMG file

  5. Drag Roru Wallet to the Applications folder

  6. Eject the DMG

  7. Open Roru Wallet from Applications (you may need to allow it in System Preferences > Security & Privacy)

  8. Log in with your portal credentials

Linux

AppImage (Recommended):

  1. Log in to the Roru Labs portal

  2. Navigate to the Downloads section

  3. Download the AppImage file from the portal

  4. Make it executable: chmod +x RoruWallet.AppImage

  5. Run: ./RoruWallet.AppImage

  6. Log in with your portal credentials

DEB Package (Debian/Ubuntu):

  1. Log in to the Roru Labs portal

  2. Navigate to the Downloads section

  3. Download the .deb package

  4. Install: sudo dpkg -i roru-wallet.deb

  5. Resolve dependencies if needed: sudo apt-get install -f

  6. Launch from applications menu and log in with your portal credentials

RPM Package (Fedora/RHEL):

  1. Log in to the Roru Labs portal

  2. Navigate to the Downloads section

  3. Download the .rpm package

  4. Install: sudo rpm -i roru-wallet.rpm

  5. Launch from applications menu and log in with your portal credentials

Web Browser Installation

The web version of Roru Wallet runs entirely in your browser:

  1. Log in to the Roru Labs portal

  2. Navigate to the Web Wallet section

  3. Access the web wallet through the portal

  4. Log in with your portal credentials

  5. Consider bookmarking for easy access

Note: The web version has some limitations compared to native apps, particularly for offline functionality and hardware integration. Beta access is required.

Post-Installation Setup

First Launch

When you first launch Roru Wallet:

  1. Welcome Screen: You'll see the welcome screen with an introduction

  2. Terms of Service: Review and accept the terms of service

  3. Privacy Policy: Review the privacy policy

  4. Permissions: Grant necessary permissions (camera for QR codes, etc.)

  5. Initialization: The app will initialize and connect to Roru Infra

Verification Steps

After installation, verify everything is working:

  1. Portal Login: Log in with your portal credentials

  2. Check Version: Go to Settings > About to verify you have the latest version

  3. Network Connection: Ensure the app can connect to Roru Infra

  4. Beta Access: Verify your beta access is active

Security Verification

Before creating a wallet, verify the installation:

  1. Portal Verification: Verify you downloaded from the Roru Labs portal

  2. Developer Verification: Verify the app is signed by Roru Labs

  3. Source Verification: Confirm you downloaded from the portal

  4. Checksum Verification: If provided, verify the file checksum matches

Troubleshooting Installation

iOS Issues

"Untrusted Developer" Error:

  • Go to Settings > General > Device Management

  • Find "Roru Labs" and tap "Trust"

  • Return to the app and try again

Installation Fails:

  • Ensure you have sufficient storage space

  • Check your internet connection

  • Restart your device and try again

  • Contact support if issues persist

Android Issues

"Install Blocked" Error:

  • Go to Settings > Security

  • Enable "Install from Unknown Sources" (if using APK)

  • Try installation again

Permission Denied:

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Roru Wallet > Permissions

  • Grant all required permissions

  • Restart the app

Play Protect Warning:

  • This is normal for new apps

  • Tap "Install Anyway" if you downloaded from the official source

  • The warning should disappear after the app is verified by Google

Desktop Issues

Windows Defender / Antivirus Blocking:

  • Add Roru Wallet to your antivirus exceptions

  • The app is safe, but some antivirus software flags new applications

  • Contact support if you need help with this

macOS Gatekeeper Blocking:

  • Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy

  • Click "Open Anyway" next to the blocked message

  • Or: sudo spctl --master-disable (not recommended for security)

Linux Permission Issues:

  • Ensure the file is executable: chmod +x RoruWallet.AppImage

  • Check file permissions and ownership

Updating Roru Wallet

Updates

Roru Wallet updates are provided through the beta portal:

  • Beta Updates: New versions are available through the portal

  • Update Notifications: You'll be notified of updates through the portal

  • Desktop: Updates are checked on launch and can be installed from the portal

  • Web: Updates are automatic (refresh the page)

Manual Updates:

  • Log in to the Roru Labs portal

  • Navigate to the Downloads section

  • Download and install the latest version

  • Your beta access will remain active

Uninstallation

If you need to uninstall Roru Wallet:

iOS

  1. Long-press the app icon

  2. Tap the "X" or select "Remove App"

  3. Confirm deletion

Android

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > Roru Wallet

  2. Tap "Uninstall"

  3. Confirm deletion

Desktop

Windows:

  • Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall

  • Or: Settings > Apps > Roru Wallet > Uninstall

macOS:

  • Drag Roru Wallet from Applications to Trash

  • Empty Trash

Linux:

  • Use your package manager to uninstall

  • Or delete the AppImage file

Important: Uninstalling the app does not delete your wallet data if you have backups. However, ensure you have your recovery phrase before uninstalling.
